Ex-Welfare Mom Has Arrived – After 2 Years
Well hey there! My name is Nicole Ocean (Yes, that’s my real name and there’s a great story behind my name, but I’ll save that for another time) and I’m an “Ex-Welfare Mom.”
Briefly, I am 43 years old. I was a single-Mom to a now 20 year old amazing young man, named Nick Surfer Ocean. I am a widow who has been married and divorced as well as am a survivor of domestic violence.
I am not shy in sharing with you that I’ve been on welfare and all types of public assistance when my son was young. It made me a better person!
I’m also very blessed to have been able to enjoy the other side of the spectrum by being financially healthy, strong and absolutely have been crushing it for the last 10 years.
Thankfully, I was able to get the help I needed for my eating disorder (stress-induced anorexia) at the best treatment center in the United States (Oliver Pyatt) and then became a breast cancer survivor, when I fought and won my battle over it in the summer of 2019.
What Can You Expect?
This site and all of its contents, in their entirety are based on actual, real-life events that have happened in my life and are the outcome of both bad and good decisions and choices that I have made and continue to make today.
I will only share things with you, that I feel are very near and dear to my heart and those specific tips, tricks, lessons and resources that I feel have really made a deep impact in my life, so I know that they may also do the same for you.
I truly consider this as my passion project. I’ve been working on it, on and off for the last 2 years, until launching the newly ‘face-lifted’ version of this website today being June 5th, 2019. 😎
Lots has happened to me in the last 20 years of my life. Now, I’m ready to open myself up to you and share things that have affected me with hopes that my stories will help you!
I’m thrilled and excited to be able to share my stuff with you, finally!
I’ve seen signs and felt within my soul that I need to stop putting this project off. I have had some serious things that have motivated me and told me that I need to work on this project now. So it is without further ado and it is my absolute pleasure to officially mark today as the start date to my beloved “Ex-Welfare Mom Project.”
One of my main goals and driving forces behind doing this passion project is to help other people. I want to openly share all that I can with you through this site, from my courses, blogs, my recommendations and free stuff.
Get ready to feel empowered and inspired by what I want to share with you, but please know that you will have to be truly motivated to benefit from my “50 Life Lessons.” Words are nothing without action!
Please know that I have set no strict expectation upon you as you decide to dig into my material, but feel free to do yourself a BIG favor and try to keep an open mind to the information that you encounter. Expect that my content will be raw, uncut and unfiltered, I won’t apologize for feeling the need to always be real with you. The things you read, hear and see within my site may move you in both bad and good ways. Overall, I hope that things sink in that need to and that overall my writing affects you positively.
Let me warn you right now that it is my intention to always share openly with you through all of my content on this site and to do so with full disclosure and be totally transparent. I believe that in doing this, that it will align with really, truly being able to help you. I want to motivate and inspire you to be your best because this is all that I have ever wanted for myself too.
My Special Skills
I am an Empath and a HSP (highly sensitive person), I absolutely hate to see people and animals suffer, be in pain, be sad or miserable. I feel other people’s pain extremely easily as if it’s happening to me. I also tend to unconsciously absorb other people’s energy, whether it’s good or bad. I’ve had to learn how to set and stick to having solid boundaries among other skills that I will share with you in later blog articles.
I’m a very proud person and have been called a “Warrior.” I see all of my skills and talents as very special gifts. Check out my Character References to learn more about who I am, through the eyes of close friends, family members and people that I’ve worked with personally and first-hand.
It’s also my hope that I can challenge you to learn as much as you want from the vast knowledge, insight and “50 Life Lessons” that have been pivotal in my life.
I’ve learned some amazing and sometimes life-changing things over the course of my adulthood. If only I had a site like this years ago, I would be an even more bad-ass version of myself.
I’ve known for the last few years of a higher calling that’s been tugging at me. At times it has been slapping me square in the face too, but I have ignored it and simply pushed it away. The timing wasn’t right!
Like I’ve said at the beginning of this posting, I have been able to work on this exciting project on and off for the last few years. I’m ready to openly dedicate myself and to share my thoughts, my experiences and ultimately one of my life purposes with you, which is to help others.
I also want to break down barriers and demystify things that are stigmatized in the world.
I can’t help but get super stoked and feel very proud when I see that what I say or share with another human being in turn helps them have a better, more purposeful life. These special moments and events lift me up, they empower, motivate me and inspire me too! I absolutely love it.
If you feel like you need more help than what you are getting from the free material on my site or from outside providers, I happily offer one-on-one life and/ or business coaching as well, if you are interested click here to learn more.
